West Qurna Phase 2 Field Development Project
This was our first project in Iraq. The plant started production on the 23rd month after the start of the construction work. We shortened the schedule by assembling the pipe racks in a free space at the site, then moved them using the SPMT and installed them right after the completion of the underground work. Furthermore, S/S, SIH and MCB were each assembled and transported as 10, 8 and 1 module units respectively. In the case of MCB, it was separated into 16 pieces after being assembled for the transportation, then reassembled at the site. We also supported the commissioning and O&M (operation and maintenance) together with KOGAS-Tech and achieved MC, RFSU and industrial production without any time difference.
Minimized the Loss in Construction Cost
The main part of the construction work was carried out under a cost-plus-fee contract. As a result, the construction cost ended up exceeding the budget, but the loss in construction cost was minimized as the cost of the variations requested by the client exceeded the contract amount by 46%.
