KNPC Clean Fuel Project

The KNPC Plant located in Mina Abdulla, which is 45 km southeast of Kuwait City, is a large refinery complex, which received an investment totaling 4 trillion won. Samsung Engineering (SECL) executed this project as JV together with Petrofac International Ltd (UK/UAE) and McDermott (Netherlands). It was a government project aimed at improving the performance of the existing refinery and building a new refinery integrating with existing refinery units to raise the quality of refined products to the level of clean fuel. Among the three project contractors, Samsung has 42.7% share and completed 11 out of 29 units. It was our first project in the Kuwait market, and based on our years of project experience in the Middle East, we were able to showcase our outstanding execution capability by providing the highest quality that meets the client’s needs.
